Vita

Anna Leuschner is professor of philosophy with a focus on the philosophy of science at the University of Wuppertal, where she is deputy director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Science and Technology Studies (IZWT). In her research, she deals with topics of socially relevant philosophy of science, in particular the increasing hostility towards science and the associated erosion of trust in science in democratic societies. In particular, she is interested in the epistemic (and social) damage that results from these problems.

Contribution to SOCRATES

As a guest at SOCRATES, Anna will finalise a book project on the intimidation of scientists that she has been working on with Manuela Fernández Pinto for a couple of years. She will also finalize a paper on new strategies that are used to undermine climate policies and that are challenging agnotology in novel ways. Furthermore, she will hand in a research project proposal on the exploitation of epistemic injustice in agnotological strategies and prepare an edited volume on the philosophy of climate change research that is intended to be useful for teaching purposes.
