Vita

Karin Gustafsson is an Associate Professor in sociology at the Environmental Sociology Section, Örebro University, Sweden. Örebro University is also were she gained her PhD in sociology. She has previously worked at Cornell University, USA, and held visiting positions at Lancaster University, UK, and Wageningen University, NL. Gustafsson is co-director of the Center for Environmental and Sustainability Social Science (CESSS) at Örebro Uniersity.

Contribution to SOCRATES

Karin Gustafsson is an environmental sociologist with a special interest in studying knowledge production and relations between knowledge producers. Her research focuses on climate change and biodiversity issues. She primarily studies these topics by focusing on science's role in international environmental governance. During her time at SOCRATES, she will study the importance and role of social science expertise in creating a sustainable transformation of society as an answer to climate change and biodiversity loss.
