Vita

Francesco Nappo is a philosopher of science. He works on the methodology of scientific modelling and the responsible use of models for public policy. Most recently, Francesco has been the PI of the project VINCE – Vetting Implicit Normativity in Climate Economics, funded by a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA.

Contribution to SOCRATES

As a SOCRATES fellow, Francesco will complete research on the strengths and limitations of economic models in outlining plausible climate change mitigation pathways. He will further pursue questions concerning which disciplines, approaches, and methodologies can effectively contribute to the planning of rapid and deep energy transitions.
