Vita

Erkan Buzbas is a Professor of Statistics at the University of Idaho since 2013. Prior to his appointment at Idaho, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University and the University of Michigan. Erkan has a PhD in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology with an emphasis on statistical modeling, MS in Statistics, and MS in Environmental Science.

Contribution to SOCRATES

Erkan Buzbas’s main research has focused on formal aspects of metascience, especially regarding replicability and reproducibility of scientific studies. He currently aims to formally connect arising philosophical aspects of metascience to scientific and statistical models at the population level. He hopes to collaborate with SOCRATES faculty on these aspects.
